Tutorial: Draw a simple cat's eye

Step 1

Sketch the eye with a circle about 5 to 6 cm in diameter and draw the pupil in the center of the circle with the HP pencil

2nd step

Still with the HB pencil, modify the shape of the eye on the top to slightly flatten it and create the inner and outer corner of the eye. Scribble around the pupil and iris to create tonal variations and create two points of light to the right of the pupil (1 large and 1 small)

Step 3

Darken the outline of the eye with the 2B pencil and then create a sclera that goes around the eye downwards from the outer corner to the inner corner. Darken the pupil with the 6B pencil as well as the scribbles already made with the HB pencil with the 2B. Blend it while keeping the points of light.

Step 4

Refine the dark lines with the 6B pencil and go darken the shading in the upper part of the eye. Scribble a few lines in 6B pencil around the eye and pupil and blend again. With the eraser pencil, create tonal variations here and there in the eye. Draw a few hairs around the eye to finish.
